From the city to suburbia. I’ve now entered a new ‘hood...MOMMYHOOD.
Who would have thought? That’s right, the girl who wouldn’t hold anything that couldn’t support it’s own neck. The girl who ran all over the city all week long with nothing tying her down. The girl who thought a 5.9 A1C was impossible. Yes, this girl right here has brought a little avocado into the world! The journey into the new ‘hood has been a wild one with many surprises along the way. Although it was not easy, here are some things I learned through this wonderful (and at times mildly terrifying) experience:
Things do not go according to plan
It’s true, be open, be in the moment and take things one day at a time.
You are Resilient
You are. Remember “I can” comes before “I can’t”.
Be it a feeling, decision, an answer - trust yourself. You know what is right for you.
Life is Short
Take the time, love hard, make the phone call, laugh till it hurts, cry till the tears are dry, hug tighter and longer. Inhale every moment - you don’t know when you won’t have the chance.
So here we are, 8 weeks in, at a whole new pace in life with a whole new appreciation for everything! So what does that mean for this blog? Well, I’m here and instead of starting a new chapter, it's a whole new book! With much unknown, a new story begins with some REAL TALK while living the T1D life in all of the Sweat, Tasty Good For You Eats, Avocado and a side of Mommy!
And so it begins.... :)
JAM OF THE DAY
I LOVE YOU ALWAYS FOREVER - BETTY WHO
